Position: Associate Analyst
Location: Arlington, VA
Status: Regular FT/Exempt
Reports to: Program Director

The Company:  Dare Mighty Things, Inc. is a veteran-owned business with offices located in the Washington, D.C. metro area and Portsmouth, NH.  A for-profit management consulting firm, DMT specializes in creating and managing solutions that achieve important social outcomes for clients in the public and non-profit sectors.

Purpose:  The Associate Analyst supports our client on a variety of projects by solving complex problems related to organization-wide performance.  The Associate Analyst must translate research and training models into consulting solutions that address organizational change, communications, quality control, information flow, production methods, and cost analysis.

Typical assignments for analysts may also include leading or participating in strategic and business planning, needs assessment, benchmarking, product development, instructional systems design, knowledge management, and information systems development.  They must possess outstanding skills in problem analysis and resolution, critical thinking, research, technical writing, data presentation, report preparation, and oral presentations.

Responsibilities:

  • Data / Metrics Analysis 
  • Responsible for ongoing analysis of program information drawn from multiple databases.
  • Development and preparation of information products and reports for client and staff.
  • Develop program, methodologies, and files for analyzing and presenting specified data.
  • Use and support database application and analytical tools to evaluate data quality, applications, and functions.
  • Research and Writing
  • Assist in the dissemination of data through client reports.
  • Assist in authoring information products.

Required

Preferred

Education:

  • Bachelors Degree in business, mathematics, science, management science, statistics or other appropriate discipline.

 

Experience / Skills:

  • 1+ years of professional experience (relevant internships may be considered)
  • Demonstrated proficiency using mathematical and statistical modeling, custom algorithms, and management decision support tools
  • Advanced skill using MS Excel, including building pivot tables and reports, developing complex formulas
  • Intermediate skill using MS Access, including planning and constructing data tables and reports, writing VBA code
  • 1+ years of management consulting experience
  • Advanced skill using MS Access, including planning and constructing data tables and reports, writing VBA code
  • Experience using SPSS or a similar statistical software package
  • Professional experience working with the Federal government; prior military (active duty or reserve)and Federal civilian service will receive first consideration

  • Highly organized with exceptional attention to detail.
  • Ability to work on multiple projects at the same time
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills and excellent interpersonal and problem solving skills.
  • Understanding of Federal program management, legislative processes, budgeting, policy, and inter-agency protocols
  • Ability to travel as necessary (up to 25%)
