Sarah Mullins Sarah Mullins shares her long-standing record of working with high-risk youth as well as with the nonprofits that serve them. Most importantly, Sarah has spent the better part of her professional life as a capacity builder to DC nonprofits and worked with a Compassion Capital Fund Grantee providing training and technical assistance to organizations combating youth violence. Additionally, Sarah’s varied experience as a classroom teacher in inner-city schools and teacher trainer in DC and South Africa makes her the perfect blend of versatility, dedication, and professional knowledge for Dare Mighty Things’ alliance with the CCF program. Sarah plays a lead role in developing capacity building materials and resources for DMT’s technical assistance team. She identifies the need for particular resources, and does the planning, writing, editing, and designing of those resources. Sarah also delivers direct technical assistance to nonprofit leadership and staff in organizational development and nonprofit management. Most recently, Sarah was a 5 th grade teacher at JC Nalle Elementary School in Southeast DC. Her previous experience included providing customized technical assistance to nonprofit organizations serving youth in the high-risk areas of DC. Sarah has facilitated a wide range of trainings and technical assistance to nonprofit partners, building organizational capacity and cultivating nonprofit leaders. Sarah holds a BA in Elementary Education from Gustavus Adolphus College and served as a Peace Corps Volunteer in South Africa, working with rural schools in the village of Dithakong. She has lived in Washington, DC since 2003 and can often be found cooking in the kitchen, dancing at a local studio, or hiking and camping just outside of the city.
