Jim brings more than 35 years of organizational development experience in the public sector to Dare Mighty Things. His primary focus has been strategic planning, process analysis and engineering, change management, and capacity building. His experience with initiatives for at-risk youth include training and technical assistance for both behavioral health and juvenile justice programs.

Jim is DMT's Senior Vice President and leader of our Washington, DC based practice, ensuring the delivery of quality products and services for a growing list of Federal agencies and grantees. He is responsible for overall program management, team development, and business growth.

Jim has 28 years of experience in the federal government including service as the Director for Manpower and Personnel for all of the Department of Defense in the Pacific region. Additionally, he brings more than 10 years of experience as a consultant to a wide range of public- and private-sector clients, including DoD, DHS, state-level agencies, and international commercial customers.

Jim has a bachelor of science degree from the U.S. Air Force Academy and an MBA from Louisiana Tech University. He has taught throughout the Air Force and at Cornell University, and has facilitated senior level strategic development for a wide range of government agencies. Jim and his wife live in Northern Virginia. They enjoy traveling, cycling, landscaping, and most of all, introducing their grandchildren to new adventures.
