Judy Strother Taylor Judy Taylor is presently a Senior Consultant with Dare Mighty Things working on the Mentoring Children Of Prisoners effort and with the Dept. of Labor Mentoring programs. She is also the Project Director for the US Dept. of Ed. Mentoring Resource Center, and is a specialist in the fields of youth development, Alcohol, Drug Abuse and delinquency prevention, juvenile justice, mentoring, and alternative health care. Ms. Taylor’s career has ranged from providing direct service to policy development as an analyst with the White House Special Action Office for Drug Abuse Prevention. She has directed technical assistance initiatives for federal agencies including the Office of Juvenile Justice and Delinquency Prevention, the Bureau of Prisons and the Agency for International Development. She has expertise in training and curriculum development. Ms. Taylor served as Executive Vice President of the National Office for Social Responsibility, a youth advocacy organization, and senior trainer for Communities In Schools, the nations largest stay in school network. Judy authored the manual “Training New Mentees”, co-authored the California Community Colleges curriculum “Mentoring Foster Care Youth”, and created the Two By Two Mentoring Model. Judy consults with the NWREL, National Mentoring Center, CARS, Evaluation, Management and Training Group, Inc. and is Senior Vice President of Mentor Management Systems assisting adult mentoring initiatives as well as more traditional youth mentoring models. She also supports 12 L.A. Boys and Girls Clubs in their efforts to address the academic, social and recreational needs of over 2000 families and individuals. Through the Boys and Girls Club, she has been mentor to 14 year old Cassandra for 3 years. Judy’s “spare time” passions include working out, rescuing animals and travel.
