Scott Larson, D. Min Dr. Scott Larson has been a popular trainer for those working with at-risk youth around the world for more than twenty years. He frequently serves as a master trainer for National ChalleNGe Institute course and workshop events on behalf of the National Guard Youth ChalleNGe Program, presenting on topics such as connecting and communicating with at-risk youth, brain development and behavior, and building trusting relationships. Scott is founder and president of Straight Ahead Ministries, an international organization focused on reaching juvenile offenders in more than 400 juvenile detention centers in fourteen states in the US and abroad. He and his wife opened an aftercare home for youth coming out of juvenile jails in 1990. The recidivism rate for those going through that home was less than ten percent. He is currently launching a faith- and community-based residential reentry program for states in the northeast called Straight Ahead Academy. Scott received his Master of Divinity as well as his Doctorate of Ministry from Gordon-Conwell Theological Seminary. His doctoral dissertation was on the spiritual development of at-risk youth. Scott has also authored ten books and numerous articles for teachers, social workers, youth and parents.
