Military culture education for civilian providers transforms access to care for those who have served in the military. In a statewide survey, NH veterans let us know that one of the top barriers in receiving care was that they “do not feel understood by the providers who serve them.” Military culture education can bridge that gap, and transform care by equipping providers with the tools they need to improve rapport, communication, and referral pathways. Dare Mighty Things provides military culture training to organizations with the goal of improving access to and quality of care for veterans, service members and their families.

"Far better it is to dare mighty things.” These words, spoken by Teddy Roosevelt, inspired me 25 years ago to launch DMT. Since that time, I have been privileged to serve with hundreds of DMT team members who believed these words, committing themselves to bold endeavors on behalf ofour clients, working together to help vulnerable people survive and thrive. Because they acted, today hundreds of thousands of lives have beentransformed. Remember, “it is not the critic who counts; nor the one who points out how the strong person stumbled…the credit belongs to the person who is actually in the arena; whose face is marred by dust, and sweat, and blood.” So don’t just dream. Do."
- Dave Van Patten, Founder

"The vision for Dare Mighty Things that Dave Van Patten established 25 years ago remains an essential part of our commitment to service today. Since the beginning, we have been instrumental in the design, development, expansion, and sustainment of programs that improve the lives of others. We have been privileged to support a wide range of nonprofit and government programs serving prisoners reintegrating into society, children impacted by incarceration, other disadvantaged and disengaged youth, and military families who have sacrificed in service to our country. We have never lost sight of our mission and our values. We are proud to serve “in the arena” with so many compassionate and dedicated partners." - Jim Seevers, Chief Operating Officer
